The
LMS Goods and Traffic Department World War 2 memorial for World War
2 is in the Holyhead Museum. It takes the form of a brass plaque with
a curved head with the LMS logo. Originally it was located in the Railway
Station Hotel which was demolished.

The
only ship listed for the UK on that day was the City of Cardiff
(United Kingdom): World War II: Convoy SL 119: The cargo ship
was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic Ocean north west of Lisbon,
Portugal (40°20'N 16°02'W) by U-566 ( Kriegsmarine) with
the loss of 21 of her 84 crew. Survivors were rescued by HMS Rochester
(Royal Navy).
