with the inscription in Black on sides of the plinth and with posts
and chains all around and flower urns at each corner. The memorial was

Message from Michael Cross - 14th April 2002: "I was at this
man's grave recently (no personal connection; I visit Jolimetz most
years) and thought I would mention to you that his grave receives
a poppy each Remembrance Sunday from some locals who were originally
from England. His is a lonely grave, being the only CWG in a French
Communal Cemetery. I visit this place only because my Granddad was
there in 1918 - L/C Brown's grave is the only obvious sign that
the war passed this way. The adjoining Forest of Mormal has rather
more significance in relation to the Great War."
