        The 
          memorial can be found at the junction of Church Road and Mill Hill, 
          Church road and Mill Hill junction, Keysoe.It takes the form of a Celtic 
          stone cross mounted on a square plinth with one stone step.; the whole 
          surrounded by eight stones connected by pointed metal chain. The builder 
          was Mr. Wade. The original unveiling (Mr J Arnold Whitchurch) and dedication 
          (Rev. J H Banham) was on 4th December 1921 and the subsequent rededication 
          (Rev. Samuel G Bush Western and Rev. Dowler Baptist) and unveiling (Captain 
          Starkey) 11th September 1949. There are twelve names for World War 1 
          and one name for World War 2.

              Royal Navy. Died Tuesday 3 April 1917. Age 29. Son of the late Deborah 
              Briars (formerly Castleman) of Baldock, Herts. Commemorated on  Chatham 
              Naval Memorial, Kent. Ref. 23. |

              Bn., The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died of woundsMonday 23 September 
              1918. Served in Palestine and France. Wounded and in in Cairo Hospital, 
              Egypt, during 1918. Born Northampton. Lived St. Neots. Enlisted 
              Bedford although St Neots also stated. Father Samuel Filsell. Buried 
              in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. Plot 5 Row 
              D Grave 6. Also commemorated at Parish Curch of All Saints, Maidstone,

              at Marseilles, killed in action on Monday 4th September 1916. Monday

              Killed in action Saturday 25 September 1915, in Pas de Calais, France. 
              Born 27 January 1882, and baptised 14 March 1882, in Thurleigh, 
              enlisted Northampton. Educated Bedford Modern School (1898-99). 
              In the 1891 census he was aged 9, a scholar, resident with his parents, 
              Charles and Ann King, at Park Farm, Brook End, Keysoe, Bedford, 
              Bedfordshire. In the 1901 census he was aged 19, born Thurleigh, 
              a Bank Clerk, resident with his parents, Charles and Ann King, at 
              Park Farm, Keysoe, Bedford, Bedfordshire. No known grave. Commemorated 
              on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 91 to 93. See also

              Bedfordshire. Son of George and Elizabeth Jane Brown, of Bedford. 
              Information 
              at Keysoe Chapel on Eric Brown indicates his mother was Elizabeth 
              Jane Brown who died 30th March 1938, aged 42 years, probaly from 
              burns received when a lamp fell over. His father was George Brown 
              who died 16th June 1969, aged 76 years, who was born in Keysoe circa 
              1893. No known grave. Commemorated on DUNKIRK MEMORIAL, Nord, France.
