Private 12101, 4th Battalion, South Wales Borderers. Died on Tuseday, 18th September 1917 in Turkey. Born Moggerhanger (Moorhanger), enlisted Sandy. Commemorated on the Basra Memorial, Iraq. Panel 16 and 62
BUCKLE Jack
Private 22792, 8th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action Tuesday, 20th November 1917 in France & Flanders. Age 21. Born and resident Chalton, enlisted Bedford. Son of Mrs. Rebecca Buckle, of Charlton (Chalton), Sandy, Bedfordshire. Buried in Ribecourt British Cemetery, Nord, France. Grave I. C. 11.

Private 31470, 40th Company, Machine Gun Corps. Killed in action Tuesday, 9th April 1918 in France & Flanders. Age 23. Born Muggerhanger, enlisted Ampthill. Son of Herbert and Betsy Burr, of 19, Muggerhanger, Sandy. Bedfordshire. Formerly 23953, Bedfordshire Regiment. Commemorated on Ploegsteert Memorial, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 11.
BUNCH Charles Walter
Lieutenant [SDGW says 2nd Lieut], 128th Siege Bty. 1, Royal Garrison Artillery who was killed in action on Wednesday, 1st November 1916 [SDGW says 13th November 1916]. Age 34. Husband of May Maud Bunch, of 14, Harley Rd., Newtown, Great Yarmouth. Buried in Bienvillers Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Grave V. D. 4.
CHAPMAN Alfred Edwin
Corporal 43106, Royal Engineers. Died Monday 13th May 1918. Aged 48. Husband of E. Jeeves (formerly Chapman), of 21, Eveline Terrace, Sandy. Buried in St. John's Graveyard, Moggerhanger. South-East of Church. See also Eynesbury Memorial

Son of William and Lucy Franklin, of 7, George Town, Sandy, Bedfordshire. Awarded Order of St. George 4th Class (Russia). Commemorated on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. probably Herbert Arthur JACOB, Lance Sergeant 5948816, 5th Battalion, Bedfordshirem Regiment. Died 17th September 1943 as a prisoner of war of the Japanese. Aged 25. Son of George Frank and Winifred Jacob; husband of Vera Elizabeth Jacob, of Great Barford. Buried in THANBYUZAYAT WAR CEMETERY, Myanmar. Plot B1. Row J. Grave 15.
