              Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 31 October 1916. Age 28. 
              Born Sutton. Lived Biggleswade. Enlisted Bedford. Son of James and 
              Fanny Sarah Kefford. Commemorated on  Loos memorial, Pas de Calais, 
              France. Panel 41. Pte. Kefford joined the army 19th February 1915. 
              He sailed to France 4th November 1915. See also Biggleswade

              Bedfordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 24 April 1917. Age 21. Born 
              and lived Sutton. Enlisted Biggleswade. Son of George and Emma Hills 
              of Sutton, Sandy, Bedfordshire. Buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de 
              Calais, France. Ref. IV.C.24. Pte. Hills joined the army 16th September 
              1914. He was severely wounded 22nd April 1917 and died in hospital 
              at Boulogne.

              Pte. 52946. 13th Battalion The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Formerly 
              15015 Essex Regiment. Killed in action 13 June 1917. Age 21. Son 
              of John and Mary Arm Brittain of Clay End, Sutton, Bedfordshire. Commemorated on  
              Arras Memorial, Pas-de-Calais, France. Ref. Bay 3.

              Formerly 13913 Royal Garrison Artillery. Died at home 28 June 1916. 
              Age 33. Born Biggleswade. Enlisted Sutton Park, Staffs (?). Husband 
              of Maud Webb of Sutton, Sandy, Bedfordshire. Buried in Sutton churchyard. 
              Saddler (Gunner) Webb served with Sir John French from August 1914 
              until April 1915. He was wounded and invalided home April 1915. 
              He returned to the front September 1915, and was invalided home 
              in February 1916.

              Buried in BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY, Berlin, Germany.

 This ship sank on her maiden 
        voyage (1870). Lost at sea was the Commander of the ship, Hugh Talbot Burgoyne, a Crimean 
        War V.C.
