| BLISS | Arthur |  
              Private 15468, 'D' Company, 9th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Killed 
              in action 26 September 1915. Aged 25. Born Tydd, Cambridgeshire, 
              enlisted Norwich. Son of Mrs Ruth Bliss, of The Homestead, Foul 
              Anchor, Tydd. No known grave. Commemorated on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas 
              de Calais, France. Panel 30 and 31. | 
| BROWN | Herbert Frederick |  
              Private, 4th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Gassed 5 June 1919. Aged 
              22. Appears to have died out of service as his death is recorded 
              as a Civil Death at Wisbech April-Jun Quarter 1919 (Vol: 3B Page: 
              596). Born in the July-September Quarter 1896 at Wisbech (Vol: 3B 
              Page: 582). In 1911 he was the son of Charles and Sarah Brown, aged 
              15, out of work, born 1896 at Foul Anchor, Tydd, Cambridgeshire, 
              resident Foul Anchor. | 
| GREEN | Walter James |  
              Private 9452, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 
              14 September 1914. Aged 19. Born Whittlesey, enlisted Wisbech. In 
              the 1911 census he was the son of John Green, aged 16, born 1895 
              in Whittlesey, resident Foul Anchor, Tydd, Cambridgeshire. No known 
              grave. Commemorated on LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL, Seine-et-Marne, 
              France. (Memorial states he died 22 November 1914)  | 
| HOLMES | Jesse Thomas |  
              Private 24068, 11th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died of wounds 
              30 November 1916. Aged 22. Born Hull, enlisted Wisbech. Son of Albert 
              and Harriet Holmes, 157 Fountain Road, Hull. In the 1911 census 
              he was the grandson of David and Charlotte Thompson, aged 16, Farm 
              Labourer, born Tydd St Giles, resident Foul Anchor, Tydd, Cambridgeshire. 
              Buried in TROIS ARBRES CEMETERY, STEENWERCK, Nord, France. Plot 
              I. Row C. Grave 18. | 
| KETTLE | Reuben Charles |  
              Able Seman London Z/5581, S.S. Westergate (H.M.S. President III), 
              Royal Naval Violunteer Reserve. Drowned at sea 21 April 1918 when 
              his ship was torpedoed. Aged 21. Born 15 May 1896 in Tydd, resident 
              Fould Anchor, Tydd, Wisbech. Son of Rueben and Elizabeth Kettle, 
              of Foul Anchor, Tydd, Cambridgeshire. Buried in GEFFOSSES CHURCHYARD, 
              Manche, Faance. Near North wall of Church. See also Tydd

              Private 15467, 9th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action 
              15 September 1916. Aged 23. Born Tydd, Cambridgeshire, enlisted 
              Norwich, Norfolk. In the 1911 census he is the son of Harry Rowell, 
              aged 16, born West Wisbech, resident Foul Anchor, Tydd, Cambridgesire. 
              No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France.

              Sapper 256806, 21st Light Railway Operating Company, Royal Engineers. 
              Killed in action 20 October 1917. Aged 27. Born Tydd, enlisted Wisbech, 
              resident Horseshoe Terrace, Wisbech. Son of Ellen Wells, of Tydd 
              Gote. In the 1911 census he was a Boarder, aged 21, Porter, born 
              Tydd, Cambridgeshire and resident 8 Horseshoe Terrace, Leverington, 
              Cambridgeshire. In the 1901 census he was the son of Joseph and 
              Ellen Wells, aged 11, born Tydd St Giles, resident Tydd St Giles. 
              Buried in RENINGHELST NEW MILITARY CEMETERY, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, 
              Belgium. Plot IV. Row C. Grave 23. |
