There are memorials within the Parish Church of St. Mary, Shudy Camps. The stained glass window in the eastern side of the church forms the main memorial. A further plaque commemorates six men who died in World War 1. The names here have been sorted into alphabetcal order.

Private 17269, 11th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action 4 August 1916. Aged 25. Born Shudy Camps, enlisted Cambridge. Son of the late Samson and Harriet Ager; brother of Mrs. M. Hammond, of Horseheath, Cambridgeshire. Buried in LONDON CEMETERY AND EXTENSION, LONGUEVAL, Somme, France. Plot 7. Row H. Joint grave 3-4.

Granders Twon, Hunts (sic - s/b Gt. Gransden) enlisted Sudbury, resident Shudy Camps. Son of Anthony and Mary Ann Christmas, of "Shardclows," Horseheath, Cambridge. Buried in AGNY MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Row G. Grave 62.

Son of Emily Thiornton, of Shudy Camps Hall, Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. Miller by trade. Unmarried. Attested 12 November 1914 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, aged 28 years 1 month, height 5 feet 11 inches, weight 160lbs, chest 33-35¼ inches, fair complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, religious denomination Church of England. Sailed from Montreal to England aboard S.S. Megantic 16 May 1915, landed England 24 May 1915. Emabrked from Folketone, England, 14 September 1915 to Boulogne, France, disembarked 14 September 1915. Frederick Edward

Major, 105th Mahratta Light Infantry, Indian Army formerly formerly Royal Scots Fusiliers. Died 25 March 1917. Son of the Rev. Canon F. S. Thornton, J.P., of Shudy Camps Park, Cambs. No known grave. Commemorated on BASRA MEMORIAL, Iraq. Panel 48 and 66.

DAWSON Charles

Signaller, Royal Corps of Signals. Died 7 December 1943. Aged 23. Son of Frederick Charles and Jessie Dawson; husband of Marjorie Winnifred Dawson, of Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire. Buried in SHUDY CAMPS (ST. MARY) CHURCHYARD, Cambridgeshire.

In memory of Charles Dawson 6th Airborne Division who gave his life for his country in the war 1939-1945.
