Langwith Bassett village is sometimes referred to as Upper Langwith
and is in Derbyshire within a few miles of Bolsover and close to the
village of Shirebrook. The memorial is in the form of a simple Celtic
Cross in stone set on a stone plinth on which are carved the names of
the fallen of the Parish in both World Wars. The memorial stands in
the churchyard of Holy Cross Church, Rectory Road, Langwith Bassett,
near the entrance gate. There are 20 names listed for World War 1 and
8 for World War 2.
