Witheridge War Memorial is to be found in the grounds of Witheridge Church, Witheridge, North Devon, and takes the form of a three-stepped base surmounted by a tapering plinth, a shaft and a cross with the inscription in black lettering on one side of the plinth and top step. There are 17 names listed for World War 1 and 5 names for World War 2. The names on the memorial are not in alphabetical order but have been sorted here into alphabetical order within conflict.

BODLEY Alfred
Gunner 280724 (as army records, Gunner 5724 as CWGC). 30 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Died of wounds 77 Field Ambulance 7th September 1917. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Bodley (nee Hill) of Witheridge. Born 1880 Bedminster SOM and enlisted Paignton. Commemorated The Huts Cemetery. IV.C.7.
BOUNDY Henry
Private 201871. 1st Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Died of wounds 22nd September 1918. Son of James and Sarah Boundy (nee Crook). Born 1877 Rackenford, enlisted Tiverton and resident Rackenford. Commemorated Serre Road Cemetery No: 2. XXIX.H.5.
BURRIDGE Ernest F
Ernest Burridge has 1887 birth record, Ernest Frank Burridge on other records. Private 28881. 9th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment. Died of wounds 5th October 1918. Son of Mary Jane Burridge (later wife of William Phillips). Husband of Hannah Jane Burridge (nee Hunt). Born Tiverton, enlisted Exeter and resident Llanishen, Wales. CROOKE Francis George
