EAST MEON WAR MEMORIALS

World War 1 & 2 - Detailed Information
Compiled and copyright © John Simmons 2007

The East Meon war memorial stands beside the East Meon to Clanfield road. It takes the form of a cross mounted on a square plinth, which in turn is mounted on a three-stepped base. The inscriptions are in black lettering on the sides of the plinth for World War 1 with an additional bronze plaque set into the top step of one side for World War 2 names. The whole memorial is encircled by wooden posts joined by a chain link fence. There are 21 names for World War 1 and 14 for World War 2.
