Buried in Intombi Cemetery, Ladysmith. Born 3rd March 1870. Son of Rev. G. J. Curtis., Herefordshire; husband of Mary daughter of Lieutenant S. F. C. Annesley. Educated at Haileybury, Hertfordshire. Served in the Isazai expedition 1892. Commemorated on Haileybury School Memorial, Hertfordshire.

Curtis. - Capt. Arthur William Curtis, 47th Battery Royal Field Artillery, died of enteric on March 9th, 1900, at Ladysmith. He was a son of the Rev. J. G. Curtis, was born in March, 1870, and educated at Haileybury College. He entered the Royal Artillery, Feb., 1890, was promoted lieut. Feb., 1893, capt. Jan., 1900, and served in the Isazai Expedition, 1892. He married Mary, daughter of Lieut.-Gen. S. F. G. Annesley in Sept., 1898.

Moody. - Capt. Henry de Clervaulx Moody, South Wales Borderers, was killed in action at Nooitgedacht, Dec. 13th, 1900. He was the son of the late Major-Gen. R. C. Moody, R.E., was born Feb., 1864, and educated at Rugby. He entered the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regt. in Aug., 1883, being promoted capt. March, 1892, and joined the South Wales Borderers Sept., 1894. He served in the Burmese Expedition 1885-87, with the 2nd Batt. The Queen’s, under the late Sir W. S. A. Lockhart, and received the medal with clasp. Capt. Moody had seen much service in South Africa and had been A.D.C. to Major.Gen. Clements, commanding the 12th infantry brigade from Dec., 1899. Capt. Moody was mentioned in despatches, L.G., Sept. 10th, 1901.
