This memorial is a marble column opposite the Swan Inn at the junction of Station Lane and High Street. Note: At the unveiling, reported April 2, 1920, Messrs A.T. & G Wagstaff were referred to as natives of the Parish, of The South African Contingence. The family and these brothers had emigrated to South Africa traveling from London on the 'Athenic', 12 January 1905

Frederick Stanley James

Private 203992, 1st/5th Battalion (Territorial), Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action 15th August 1917. Born Offord Cluny, resident Huntingdon. Son of William & Jane (nee Smith) of Offord Cluny. Born 3rd July 1894. Baptised 12th August 1894 in Offord Darcy, Hunts. Formerly 1066, Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion. Buried in TYNE COT CEMETERY, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot VI. Row F. Grave 22.

COLBERT

Sergeant 290208, 7th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 26th March 1918. Aged 40. Born Offord Cluny, enlisted Huntingodn, resident St Neots. Son of Isaiah & Eliza (nee Storey) Colbert of Offord Cluny, Hunts. At the unveiling ceremony, a wreath inscribed “With loving remembrance of our dear boys Will and Charlie, from the family”. Baptised at about aged 4, 5th May 1882 – Offord Cluny, Hunts.) Buried in ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN Seine-Maritime, France. Section P. Plot VI. Row J. Grave 3A.

Charles Thomas

Private 17113, Hertfordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 9th December 1918. Aged 26. Born and resident Offord Cluny, enlisted Huntingdon. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Colbert, of Offord Cluny. Awarded the Military Medal (M.M.). Buried in OFFORD CLUNY (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD Huntingdonshire, United Kingdom.

Private 43047, 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Died 13th March 1918. Aged 20. Born offord D'Arcy, enlisted Huntingdon, resident Offord Cluny. Son of Christopher and Louisa Collins, of Offord Cluny. Formerly 1065, Huntingdosnhire Cyclist Battalion, Buried in OFFORD DARCY (ST. PETER) CHURCHYARD Huntingdonshire, United Kingdom.

Son of Henry and Louise Fensome, of Offord, Cluny, Hunts; husband of Rosa Fensome, of 211, Oundle Rd., Woodstone, Peterborough. Buried in PUCHEVILLERS BRITISH CEMETERY Somme, France. Plot VI. Row D. From Elton, Hunts. “Roll of Honour”. Formerley 18328 Bedfordshire Yeomanry. John's name was not engraved until 1937-1938. Commemorated on CAMBRAI MEMORIAL, LOUVERVAL, Nord, France. Panel 4.

[William on SDGW] Lance Corporal 1445, Huntingdon Cyclist Battalion attched 1st/1st Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds 31st August 1916. Aged 18. Born March Quarter 1898 St. Neots (3b, 297). Son of John and (Gertrude) Emma Searle (nee Fear), of New Rd., Offord Cluny, Huntingdon. Buried in ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France.
