The Fort William Post Office War Memorial was originally housed in the Fort William Post Office but is now located in the West Highalnd Museum, Fort William, and takes the form of a wooden board with names inscribed for both World War 1 and 2.

Lance Corporal 201222, 4th/5th (Angus and Dundee) Battalion (Territorial), The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). Killed in action 26 September 1917. Born Kelmallie, Inverness-Shire, enlisted Dundee. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 94 to 96.

Private 40647, Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. Killed in action 21 April 1917. Enlisted Glasgow 4 October 1915, aged 21, in 12th Scottish Rifles, height 5 feet ½ inches. Postman by trade. Next of kin Mr John Carruthers, of 153, Avenue Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow. Military redcords also state next of kin on enlistment resident 232, Abercrombie Street, Glasgow E. In the 1901 census he was aged 8, borm Glasgow, Lanarkshire, a scholar, son of John and Mary Carruthers, resident 26, Fielden Street, Glasgow, Camlachie, Lanarkshire. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 5.
GRANT Dugald
Deck Hand PO/4060, H.M.S. "Vernon,"Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Died from disease 23 May 1916. Aged 26. Born 1 June 12889 in Mordant, Inverness-shire. Son of Peter Grant, of Dalelia, Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire. Buried in North-East part of island in ST. FINNAN'S ISLE BURIAL GROUND, Inverness-shire.

Sapper 615, 51st (1st/1st High Division) Signal Company, Royal Engineers. Killed in action 27 May 1915. Aged 19. Born Killmallie, Inverness-Shire, elisted Fort William, Inverness-Shire. Son of William T. Kilgour, of Tighnabruaich, Fort William, Inverness-shire. Buried in CABARET-ROUGE BRITISH CEMETERY, SOUCHEZ, Pas de Calais, France. Plot XVII. Row E. Grave 12.

Died 30 December 1917. Aged 26. Born and enlisted Ardgour, Argyle, resident Cardington, Bedfordshire. Son of John and Jean McDonald, of Ardgour, Argyllshire; husband of Cora E. Brooks (formerly McDonald), of Berrington Lane, Cardington, Beds. Buried in ALEXANDRIA (HADRA) WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt. Section A. Grave 126.

Son of Peter and Mary MacDonald, of Fort Augustus. Buried in KILCHUIMAN BURIAL GROUND, Inverness-shire. Grave 485.
MacPHERSON Ewen Dugald
Flight Sergeant 1018514, 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Took off on a night mission to Berlin from RAF Wyton and died when his aircraft exploded after being hit by flak and crashed on the outskirts of Berlin 20 January 1944. Aged 34. Son of Allan and Hughina MacPherson, of Ardgour, Argyllshire. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal (D.F.M.). Buried in BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY, Berlin, Germany. Plot 7. Row H. Collective grave 16-23.
