        Laggan 
          War memorial is to be found in a field east of Laggan, on the A86, next 
          to the Gaskmore House Hotel, Laggan. It takes the form of a square pillar, 
          made of stone blocks, in the shape of a small tower with battlement 
          top and 4 cannon-like barrels protruding, one on each corner, the whole 
          stands on a two-stepped base. Carved on the front face is a crest with 
          motto below and the dates 1914-1919. The dedication and names inscribed 
          on two inset tablets, one on the front and the other on the right-hand 
          side. The World War 2 memorial is on the right hand face as you look 
          at the memorial. The memorial was built by Messrs. Garden & Co. 
          There are 31 names listed for World War 1 and 6 names for World War 
          2. The names here have been sorted here into alphabetical order for 
          ease of reading and research.
