The
first Corrour Lodge, some 3 miles to the south of Loch Ossian on Carn
Dearg, was 'the highest shooting lodge in Scotland, being 1,723 ft above
the sea level' and was replaced by The Old Corrour Lodge, built in 1896,
that was three miles to the north, at the east end of Loch Ossian, and
has been replaced by an even newer third Corrour Lodge (1999-2004) on
the same loch-side site. The memorial is to those men from the estate
who gave their lives in World War 1. The memorial is now located in
the West Highalnd Museum, Fort William, and takes the form of a wooden
board with names inscribed for World War 1 only.
