The Memorial covers the Parish of Helpringham and stands on the village green in the middle of the village. There are 25 names for WW I and 6 for WW II. The memorial takes the form of four copper plaques with lettering in bas relief attached to the square base of a four-stepped 14th century limestone market cross with tapering shaft and wheel style cross. The plaques have been placed over the stone carved names making up the original WW I memorial because of the deterioration of the stone. Originally unveiled Whit Sunday-1921

COX	George	Lance Corporal 241627, 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 15th April 1918. Aged 28. Born Swaton, enlisted Ancaster, resident Sleaford. Son of Mary. No known grave. Commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial. Warneton, Belgium. Panel 3.
CLARKE	Leslie William	[Listed as K CLARKE on Memorial]. Private 42613, 9th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Died of wounds in United Kingdom 20th November 1918. WRAY	William H	Private 6041, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 25th October 1914. Born Kirkstead, enlisted Lincoln. No known grave. Commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 8.
WILSON	Herbert	Private 22492, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Killed in action 29th October 1916. Aged 18. Born helpringham, enlisted Leicester. Son of John and Charlotte, of Helpringham. Formerly 2604, Lincolnshire Yeomanry. No known grave. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Thiepval, France. Pier and Face 4D.

HAYNES	[Alfred] Harry Mark	Gunner. 976116, 12 (Honourable Artillery Company) Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery. Died 4th June 1944. Aged 24. Son of Mark and Margaret; husband of Noreen Mary, of Salisbury. Buried in the Cassino War Cemetery, Cassino, Frosinone, Italy. Plot III. Row B. Grave 8. Note: The Battle of Monte Cassino was over by 18th May 1944 so that Sgt. Haynes may have been wounded in this engagement or died in a later conflict as the Cemetery contains bodies of those killed in the wider surrounding area.

MASSINGHAM	William Henry	Ordinary Seaman P/JX 217330, H.M.S. Acheron, Royal Navy. Died 17th December 1940. Aged 19. Son of Joseph and Adelaide; husband of Laura, of Bicker. No known grave. Commemorated on Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Hampshire. Panel 40, Column 8.
ROBINSON	Albert	Private 5891447, 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Died 20th July 1944. Aged 20. Son of John and Lizzie, of Helpringham. Buried in Banneville-La-Campagne War Cemetery, Calvados, France. Plot I. Row E. Grave 27.
