St Hugh Church War Memorial takes the form of a white stone plaque with
incised red and black lettering is fixed below a relief of one of the
Stations of the Cross, on the west wall of the nave immediately on the
right after entering the main door.

WINIFRED JULIA, WHO DIED SEPTEMBER 30th 1915, AGED 29 YEARS.
ALSO OF HENRY, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION IN FRANCE,
APRIL 9th 1917, AGED 28 YEARS. BELOVED DAUGHTER & SON OF
ANDREW, AND CORA BRIGGS.
BY WHOM THIS STATION WAS ERECTED.

Briggs, of 17, Shrewsbury St., Glossop. Buried in FAUBOURG D'AMIENS
CEMETERY, ARRAS, Pas de Calais, France. Plot VII.Row G. Grave 50. |
