The
memorial is to be found within the church of St John the Baptist, Londonthorpe.
The stained glass window is in mmeory of one of the men who died in
World War 1, John Francis Baker and his sister Ellen Baker. The two
commeorative memorial plaques are metal and are bolted to the wall of
the church. There are four names, in addition to that of John Baker,
for World War 1 and three for World War 2.

the glory of God and in loving memory of Lieutenant John Francis
Baker who fell in action near Bullecourt 28th August 1918, aged
20 years and is buried at Ecoust, France. Also of Ellen Baker his
much loved sister who died 8th December 1918, aged 18 years. This
window is dedicated by their Father and Mother AD 1920.

Regiment. Killed in action at Gavrelle 3rd May 1917. Enlisted Bourne,
Lincs. William was born in Pickworth in Lincolnshire to Henry and
Mary Harby; moved from Pickworth to Londonthorpe before the war.
In 1911 he was a Boarder working as a Waggoner on a farm, aged 21,
born Pickworth, and residing at Walcot near Falkingham, Sleaford,
