The village war memorial is to be found in the grounds of Holy Cross church and takes the form of a circular Celtic wheel cross on tapering plinth and single step set into an elevated stone bed. Within the church are various framed, glazed handwritten scrolls, the first lists those who died in World War 1 (11 names), the second lists those who served and returned from World War 1 (29 names) and the thridd lists those who served and returned in World War 2 (44 names).

Able Seaman SS/761. HMS Princess Irene, Royal Navy. Died 27th May 1915, aged 28 years. Son of Frankland Kirk and Margaret Binns, husband of Eleanor Binns of Middleholme, Jacksons Court, Pontefract, Yorks. Commemorated CHATHAM NAVAL MEMORIAL. 9.

Possibly Private 37092. 9th Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment. Killed in action Salonika 18th September 18th September 1918, aged 31 years. Husband of Violet Mary Breeze of Front Street, Mendlesham, Suffolk. Born Norwich, Norfolk, enlisted Sleaford and resident Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated DOIRAN MEMORIAL.

Private 270211. 15th Battalion, Royal Scots. Killed in action 16th April 1918, aged 26 years. Son of the late Henry and Eliza Greensmith. Born Scopwick, enlisted Grantham and resident Scopwick, Lincs. Commemorated PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL. Panel 1.

Gunner 117522. 1st Army Pool, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action 28th April 1917, aged 26 years. Son of Arthur and Maud Hicks of Scopwick, Lincs and husband of Annie Hicks of 15 Cedar Road, Nottingham, Notts. Born Hetherington (?), Lincs and resident Nottingham, Notts. Commemorated LA TARGETTE BRITISH CEMETERY, Neuville-St. Vaast. I.D.23.

6th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment.
Killed in action in France 16th September 1918, aged 21 years.
This tablet is erected by his Father and Mother. RIP.

Stoker 1st Class SS/103144, Drake Battalion, Royal Naval Division, Royal Navy. Reservist (RFR/PO/B/4281). Killed in action 14 July 1915. Aged 29. Born 8 February 1885 in Ruskington, Lincolnshire. Son of William and Charlotte Ann Wilson, of Brook Side, Scopwick, Lincoln; husband of Elizabeth Wilson, of 5, Dunbar Street, Belle Vue, Wakefield, Yorks. Enlisted 7 June 1906 for 5 years and 7 years Reserve, formerly a Farm Labourer, height 5 feet ^¼ inches, chest 38¼ inches, brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion. Grave lost was buried in the rear of Trench E.11. Gallipoli. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey (including Gallipoli). Panel 1 and 2.

In loving memory of Arthur William Hall FRCSE of Durban, Natal. Second son of the Vicar of this Parish, born 26th May 1861. Died 20th March 1900. For some years Surgeon to the Durban Light Infantry he died of enteric fever while on active service during the Boer War. His body lies in the churchyard at Mooi River.

Blessed are the pure at heart for they shall see God.
This tablet is erected by his wife and his father.
