The Village of Aylmerton is situated a few miles south of Sheringham.

There is a plaque on the church organ dedicated to those who died in World War One, and a Memorial Cross in the churchyard which remembers men from the First and Second World Wars. First World War names are identical on both memorials.

COOPER Herbert
Private 17728. 2nd Battalion Norfolk Regiment. Died in The Balkans on 9th December, 1915. Born Aylmerton. Enlisted Norwich. Commemorated: Doiran Memorial, Greece.
DURRANT Henry (Harry)
Private 203701. 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 26th October 1917. Aged 24. Born Felbrigg. Enlisted Cromer. Son of George and Rosanna Durrant; husband of Amelia Elizabeth Durrant, of Aylmerton, Roughton, Norfolk. Commemorated: Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 34 to 35 and 162A.
MEDLAR Bertie Charles
(Medler on CWGC & CD). Private 27139. 4th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 18th January 1916. Aged 27. Born Aylmerton. Lived West Runton. Enlisted Norwich. Son of W. and Emily Medler, of Aylmerton, Norwich. Commemorated: Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. Pier and Face 2 C.
TOOKE George William
Private 9634. Depot. Norfolk Regiment. Died at home on 11th October 1917. Born Marsham. Enlisted Norwich. Buried: Aylmerton (St. John The Baptist) Churchyard.

ATKINS Ernest Richard
Private 5777180. 5th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died on 20th September 1944. Aged 24. Son of Richard Ernest and Beatrice Atkins, of Aylmerton, Norfolk. Commemorated: Singapore Memorial. Column 49.
DENT Richard Ewer
Flying Officer (Pilot) 74670. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died on 11th February 1941. Aged 22. Son of Admiral Douglas Lionel Dent, C.B., C.M.G., and Olive Kate Dent, of Aylmerton, Norfolk. Commemorated: Glasgow Crematorium. Column 1.
HUNT Harold
Private 5782259. 4th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died on 4th November 1943. Aged 37. Son of George and Fanny Hunt; husband of Joyce Helen Hunt, of Aylmerton, Norfolk. Buried: Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand. Grave: 2. H. 51.
MARLING Basil Charles
Sergeant (Air Gunner) 1216411. 40 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died on 15th April 1943. Aged 28. Son of John and Cora Watta Marling, of Aylmerton, Norfolk. Buried: Enfidaville War Cemetery, Tunisia. Ref. Coll. grave V. D. 9-10.
TUCK Raymond Leslie
Private 14205833. 5th Battalion The King's Regiment (Liverpool). Died on 13th May 1944. Son of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Tuck, of Aylmerton. Buried: Aylmerton (St. John The Baptist) Churchyard.
