The
Ellingham war memorial is to be found in St Mary's Churchyard, Mill
Pool Lane, Ellingham, Norfolk and is listed as a Grade II Listed Building.
It takes the form of a plain cross mounted on a tapered plinth on as
three-stepped hexagonal base. The inscription is on the front face of
the plinth with the World War 1 names either side, the World War inscription
is on the front face of the top step flanked by the names of the fallen.
There are ten names listed for World War 1 and six names for World War
2.

by trade, unmarried, height 5 feet 93/10

Ellingham. Attested 18 November 1905 at Norwich, aged 18 years
7 months, a Gardener by trade, height 5 feet 48/10

kent on his original attestation). Son of Robert Cossey of Ellingham,
Bungay, Norfolk, and the late Susannah Cossey; brother of Mrs.
Grace Smith, of Red House, Ellingham, Nr. Bungay, Norfolk. Served
21 years in the Navy. Originally attested 18 September 1895
at Chatham as 4599, 3rd Battalion, Buffs (East Kent Regiment),
aged 18 years 6 months, a Carman by trade, unmarried, height
5feet 63/8 inches, weight 129lbs, chest
