This memorial stands in the churchyard of All Saints Church,Main Road, Narborough, Norfolk. It takes the form of a rough hewn, granite, Celtic cross standing on a plinth on a two stepped base; the whole id enclosed by a stoned area enclosed by rough hewn, low walls; a cross of sacrifice appears on the front face. The inscrption on the front face and the names are relevant to World War 1 (11 names) and the names and inscrption on the rear are rlevant to World War 2 (6 names).

In the 1891 census he was aged 10, born Norfolk, a scholar, resident with his parents, Robert and Martha Brown, at Winch Road, East Walton, Freebridge Lynn, Norfolk. In 1887 he attended East Walton School, East Walton, Norfolk. Buried in ARNEKE BRITISH CEMETERY, Nord, France. Plot II. Row C. Grave 13.

Leading Telegraphist London.Z/6091, H.M.S. "President IV", Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Died from disease in Deal Hospital 29 November 1918. Born 10 February 1890 in Narborough. Husband of Dorothy, E. haverson, of Narford Park, Swaffham, Norfolk. He was a Clerk with the Swaffham Department of the Great Easten Railway for twelve years. He enlisted in January 1917. Buried with military honours, the escort being provided by members of the Royal Air Force from the Narborough aerodrome, in the South-West corner of NARBOROUGH (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD, Norfolk. Born 18 August 1891, baptised 13 September 1891, at Narborough, son of James and Emily Holman. In the 1911 census he was aged 19, born Narborough, an Assistant School Teacher, resident with his parents, James and Emily Holman, at The Glebe, Narford Road, Narborough, Swaffham, Norfolk. Admitted 16 September 1907 to King Edward VII Grammar Boys' School, King's Lynn, left 16 July 1910. probably W J HOLMAN, Sergeant 200554, Norfolk Regiment attached King's African Rifles. Formerly employed with the Eastern Telegraph Co. Height 5 feet 11¼ inches, chest 34", medium complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes. In the 1901 census he was aged 3, born Ovingham Northumberland, resident with his parents at The Vicarage Croxley Green, Rickmansworth Rural, Watford, Hertfordshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 13, born Ovingham Northumberland, at school, resident with his parents at The Vicarage, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth Rural, Hertfordshire. Enlisted 3 April 1908. aged 19, as Private 172, 4th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment, formerly a Clerk, resident 5 Fleming Street, Redcar. In the 1911 census he was aged 22, born Middlesborough, a Clerk at the Galvanized Sheet Works, resident with his mother, Eliza, at 10, Turner Street, Coatham, Redcar, Yorkshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 23, born Norway (different to consular details), a Clerk to Institution of Civil Engineers, resident with his father, William Spear, at 277, Willesden Lane, Cricklewood N.W., Willesden, Middlesex. Attested 19 February 1912 as 1606, 14th Battalion, London Regiment, aged 24, served until 5 August 1914, son of William Spear, of Hunholmen, Tysfjord, Norway; joined Royal Flying Corps 11 December 1916, his father was then resident at 25 Woodstock Road, Golders green, London N.W. Buried in NARBOROUGH (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD, Norfolk.
