additional information Damon Rogers
The
1914-18 memorial originally came from Steward & Patteson Brewery
in Barrack Street. It was on the wall just inside the main gates next
to the gatekeepers office. It was moved to Rouen Road when the Barrack
Street brewery closed. The second of the memorials is also from the
Steward & Patteson Brewery in Norwich, who also had a brewery in
Swaffham. This may account for there being a few casualties with Swaffham
but no Norwich connections. The memorials have been combined by war
for ease of reading.
