Cross. Listed on Swardeston, Norfolk, Roll of Honour.
Born 1 July 1891. Baptised 31 August 1891 in Bromley, Kent, son
of Rederick William and Frances Shophia Cooke. Birth registered
in the October to December Quarter 1891 in Bromley Registration
District, Kent. Death registered in the January to March Quarter
1972 in Braintree Registration District, Essex. Buried, aged 80,
in St John the Baptist Churchyard, Finchingfield 12 January 1972.
He was a Second Lieutenant, Norfolk Regiment and then Captain, attached
Egyptian Army.

Spec. Res., to be 2nd Lt. 3rd Nov. 1917, with seniority from 15th
Feb. 1915, and to retain his higher rank and seniority whilst serving
with his present unit.

Awarded the Order of the Nile, Insignia of officer, London Gazette
10 May 1940. [Whitehall,May 10, 1940. The KING has been pleased
to give and grant unto the undermentioned gentlemen His Majesty's
Royal licence and authority to wear Decorations conferred upon them
by His Majesty the King of Egypt, in recognition of valuable services
rendered by (them in the employment of the Sudan Government.]

Governor in his office and Captain Robert Chevlaier Cooke, M.C.,
the district commissioner of Rejaf and Mongalla districts as his
assistant for Mongalla”
