There
is a very fine memorial of alabaster in honour of the men of Westwick
who served and those who died in the Great War (1914 – 1918).
The centre panel records the names of those who died in the conflict.
Cecil Bullimore, son of George & Emma, served in the 1st/5th Norfolk
Regiment and died on the 12th August 1915 aged 21.
Benjamin Self, son of Thomas & Harriet, husband of Adeline. He served
in 1st /5th Battalion of Norfolk Regiment and died prior to going overseas
on 28th October 1914 aged 42 and is buried in the south western part
of our churchyard.
John Robert Watts, Son of Jonah and Elizabeth Watts served in the1/4th
Battalion Norfolk Regiment, died 19th April 1917 and is commemorated
on the Memorial in Jerusalem.
The
Second World War memorial (1939 -1945) is the wooden tablet for John
Cauldwell – the son of the Reverend Reginald Cauldwell and his
wife Phyllis. He served in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Norfolk Regiment
as a private. He died on the 7th June 1944 aged 26 and was buried in
the Ranville War Cemetery in France.
