Christened at Wesleyan on 11th April 1878. On 1901 Census this Arthur was a shoemaker aged 23 years. He married Catherine Mary Bettles on 26th December 1907 at H. Ferrers Wesleyan. On 1911 Census the couple lived at 6 Commercial St. Son of Alfred and Ellen Middleton (nee Parker) of Thrift St. Arthur's siblings were Walter, Gracie and Mary. He was an Assistant Scout Leader.
