The
memorial on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is on a small hill on the south
of the island overlooking the harbour and the ruins of the priory (home
of The Venerable Bede, etc). The island, which can only be reached by
car when the tide is out, is off the Northumbrian coast roughly half
way between Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
