There are two Roll of Honours of Honour displayed in St. Mary's Church, North Aston, on the wall near the font. On eis for World War 1 and the other World War 2 and are framed and glazed. The Rolls are handwritten, for World War 1 there are 53 names, 44 who served and returned and 9 who made the ultimate sacrifice. For World War 2 there are 22 names. The names here have been split between those who died and those who served.

Private, 12th Labour Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment Army no. 29200. He died on 21 January 1917 age 33. He was the son of John and Mary Dore of North Aston. He is buried in Grave 8 Plot F Row 3 Calais Southern Cemetery

Private, 5th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment Army no. 39348. He died on 28 April 1917 age 20. He was the son of Thomas and Emma Lewis of North Aston. He has no known grave but his name appears on Bay 7 of the Arras Memorial

PAKENHAM KP, MVO

Thomas (5th Earl of Longford)

Brigadier General, General Staff, Commanding 2nd (South Midland) Mounted Brigade. He died on 21 August 1915 age 50 in the attack on W Hill. Born in Dublin, He was the son of William Lygon Pakenham, 4th Earl of Longford and the husband of Mary Julia, Countess of Longford, of North Aston Hall. He is buried in grave Spec Mem E 3 Green Hill Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey

Rifleman, 1st/18th Battalion, London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) Army no. 590364. He died on 7 April 1917 age 20. He was the son of John and Annie Mobbs of North Aston. He has no known grave but his name appears on Panel 54 Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres

SYKES

Jesse

Sergeant, New Zealand Training Unit of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Army no. 66738. He died on 17 November 1918 during the great flu epidemic. He was 29 and born in Deddington. He was the son of Henry and Martha Sykes, Lime Kiln Cottages, North Aston and the husband of Jane Rebecca Sykes, 470 Annagh Street, Christchurch, New Zealand. He is buried in grave 608 Featherston Cemetery, New Zealand

Rifleman, 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade Army no. 5790. He died on 1 July 1916 age 20. He was the son of Henry and Martha Jane Sykes, Lime Kiln Cottages, North Aston. He is buried in grave B 5 Thistle Dump Cemetery, High Wood, Longueval

Corporal, 7th Battalion, The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment Army no. 1664. He died on 9 December 1915 age 24. He was the son of Mr and Mrs J Woolgrove of North Aston. He is buried in grave 6 Plot I Row B Corbie Communal Cemetery

Private, 364th Company, Base Mechanical Transport Depot (N) Army Service Corps Army no. M/351087. He died on 2 September 1918 age 32 a native of Oxfordshire. He was the son of Harry and Emma Wyatt of North Aston and the husband of. Gertrude Eliza Wyatt, Mystole, Chatham, Canterbury. He is buried in grave IV F 4 Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte

Major, 16th/5th Lancers, Royal Armoured Corps Army no. 42475. He died on 19 February 1943 age 34. He was the son of Captain John Vickris Taylor and Sybil Taylor and the husband of Ruth Prudence Taylor, Walton, Boston Spa, Yorkshire. He is buried in Grave II C 25 Enfidaville War Cemetery, Tunisia. There is also a wooden plaque in the Church

[Listed as 2nd Lieut on memorial] Captain, 190 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery Army no. 174589. He died on 11 July 1944. He is buried in Grave VII E 9 Ryes War Cemetery, Bazenville, Normandy

KNIGHT

Sergeant, 1st Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Army no. 5385252. He died on 24 October 1944 age 23. He was the son of Albert and Alice Knight, Middle Aston and the husband of Lucy Knight, Deddington. He is buried in Grave 3 D 8 Uden War Cemetery, Holland

Flying Officer (Pilot), 7 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve RAF no. 150099. He died on 14 January 1944 age 27. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Croxford and the husband of Dorothy Mary Croxford of Cardiff. He is buried in Coll. grave 3. G. 12-15 Hanover War Cemetery. 7 Squadron was part of the Pathfinder Force and they flew Lancaster Bombers from their base at RAF Oakington, Cambridgeshire

Civilian. He died at Church House, Great Smith Street during a bombing raid on London on 14 October 1940 age 66. He was a Fellow of Winchester College, Chairman of Cammel Laird & Co. Ltd., and formerly Colonial Treasurer, Transvaal Oxford. He was the husband of Mary Hermione Hichens ARRC, JP and they lived at North Aston Hall. He has no known grave

Died at Dunmore, Trabert, Argyll 3 October 1956, buried at Powderham, Devon.
