Resident Buried in LA CHAUDIERE MILITARY CEMETERY, VIMY, Pas de Calais, France. Son of George (deceased) and Hannah (nee Brown) Langslow.Grave lost commemorated on Chinook Memorial 21. National Archives of Canada Accession Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 5382 - 52 Extract from the The Brecon Radnor Express dated 14th June 1917, Owen's age is given as 32, in fact he was 37 years old. Killed in Action. KNIGHTON SOLDIER'S SACRIFICE. News was received at Knighton on Saturday to the effect that Pte. Owen Langslow, 47th Canadian Regiment, was killed in action in France on the 30th ult. Private Laugslow, who was 32 years of age. was the third son of Mrs Langslow the Rookery, Knighton, he joined the Canadian Army at the outbreak of war and was wounded about six months ago. Much sympathy is felt with the bereaved relatives. Although Owen is entered as being in the 47th Battalion he was killed whilst serving with the 62nd Battalion. This was due to the high death rate and the 2 battalions being amalgamated. |
