memorial is situated in the grounds of St John the Baptist, Axbridge.
Itn takes the form of a wheel cross, of rough hewn granite, surmounting
three-stepped stone base, each step of the base bears the names and
inscription.

was a farm labourer, unable to swim, heioght 5 feet 5 inches, chest
32½ inches. complexion fair, dark brown hair, dark grey eyes.
Enlisted 2 November 1914. He had a fiancee, Miss Ann May, of 166
Noish Alliayton, Bayford, Dorset. Buried in SKEW BRIDGE CEMETERY,
