The
memorial stands in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul Church, Combe
Florey. It is in the form of a boxed Latin cross on a square, rising
from a sloping base and platform; it is made from granite.

Harry) Simons, of the Commercial Inn, East Combe, Taunton previously
Gate House, Combe Florey. Occupation Stove Mounter. Enlisted and
passed fit 22nd September 1914 at Valcartier, Canada. Height 5 feet
7½ inches, girth 38 inches, complexion dark, eyes brown,
hair blcak; religion Church of England. No known grave. Commemorated
on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
