The
Portlock war memorial stands at the junction of Dunster Steep and the
A39 in Porlock, West Somerset. It takes the form of a small, floriated,
cross with an octagonal shaft, a square plinth and an octagonal, four
stepped, base. The names of the fallen are listed on a broad tablet
mounted in front of the base. There are 24 names for World War 1 and
13 names for World War 2.

a small reinforcement to hold the line against a strong counter-attack,
and fell within four miles of the Memorial. No known grave. Commemorated
