Compiled and Copyright © David Greig 2007

There are a variety of memorials commeorating those who died in World War 1 and 2 all to be found in and around St Andrew's church. There is a memorial in the grounds in the form of a Celtic cross on a square shaft mounted on a three-stepped octagonal base commemorating those who died in World War 1, no names. The inscription reads:

THEY WHOM THIS CROSS COMMEMORATES
ARE NUMBERED AMONG THOSE WHO
AT THE CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY
LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR TO THEM,
ENDURED HARDNESS, FACED DANGER
AND PASSED OUT OF THE SIGHT OF MEN
BY THE PATH OF DUTY AND SELF-SACRIFICE,
GIVING UP THEIR OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS
MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM. LET THOSE
WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THEY
BE NOT FORGOTTEN

Within the church are two shield-shaped stone tablets on either side of the altar listing 53 men who gave their lives in World War 1. The inscription reads:
