Anslow
is a village and civil parish in the East Staffordshire district of
Staffordshire, about three miles north-west of Burton upon Trent. The
war memorial and roll of honour are to be found on a weathered plaque
on the outside wall at the east end of the Holy Trinity Church. The
memorial lists those who served with those who did not returned notated
with a †. Parts of the memorial are badly weathered
and illegible but as much as can be recorded is listed here. The names
are listed in no particular known order but have been sorted here into
alpahbetical order for ease of reading and research, question marksd
(?) have been used for the illegible letters in the names. Some educated
guesses have been made to names where possible. there are exactly 100
names listed of which 12 or 13 are marded as having made the ultimate
sacrifice, Wm.Webster being the uncertainty.
