BURGH WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © Martin Edwards 2017

The church of St Peter and St Paul sits on the border with Norfolk and has been in and out of each county overtime, as we are using pre-1928 locations this would put it in Suffolk although the address is Burgh Castle, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. There are teo memorial, one for World War 1 and one for World War 2. The World War 1 memorial takes the form of a nowy headed plaque with a wreath in relief above the text. The World War 2 memorial is a wooden plaque with white lettering and was unveiled 22 November 1953 by Field Marshall Lord Ironside, GCB, CMG, DSO.
