The
War Memorial is situated at the parish church and takes the form of
a Latin cross, made from Portland stone, on a two stepped octagonal.
It only commemorates those men who died in World War 1 of which there
are 9 names. The memorial was unveiled 1st January 1922 by Major Rodwell.
The memorial site cost £27 10s, the builder was Mr Fred Barber.
The unveiling was recorded in the Eastn Anglian Daily Times 4th January
1922.

the Mediterranean, does not appear to have been lost at sea, therefore
Deck Hand Constance’s death was either a result of a minor military
skirmish, accident or illness |
