The War Memorial is situated in the grounds of the parish church and takes the form of a granite obelisk, upon which is a wreath, a sword and a crown. The whole is set upon a stepped base. There are five names for World War 1. The memorial is heavily covered in lichen.

Lance Corporal 241150, 1st/6th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Died 24/05/1917. Age 30. Son of Mrs Hannah Durrant of Cretingham. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial

Lance Corporal 3/8071, 1st Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Date of death: 03/10/1915. Born Cretingham. Commemorated on the Loos Memorial. Lance Corporal Durrantis also commemorated on the Brandeston Memorial

Private G/11833, 7th Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Died 03/05/1917. Born Cretingham. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial

TAYLOR

Christopher George

Private 27365, 6th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry. Died 09/04/1917. Age 20. Son of John and Hannah E Taylor of Bastings Hall, Framsden. Born Halesworth, resident of Cretingham. Buried at Tilloy British Cemetery, Tilloy-Les-Mofflaines
