The
Edwardstone war memorial is located roughly ½ mile east of the
church and is in the form of a cavalry cross, made from Portland stone,
on a stepped octagonal base. There are 14 men named for World War 1
and 2 for World War 2. The architects were Messrs W Farmer & Brindley,
the builder was Mr Frederick Kingsbury and the letters were cut by F
J Lindley. The memorial was orignally unveiled by the Ven. G Hodges
on 14th March 1920; this was reported in the East Anglian Daily Times
16th March 1920.
