The
memorial is in the form of a clipsham stone Latin Cross on a three stepped
base and stands outside St Peter's Parish Church. There are 12 names
for World War 1 and 4 for World War 2. The memorial was originally unveiled
on 29th Septembber 1920, the builder of the Second World War addition
was built Mr E E Saunders at a cost of £25. Details can be found
in the Suffolk Chronicle & Mercury 10th October 1919.

Royal Canadian Air Force. Died 25/10/1942. Age 24. Son of Frederick
James Molesworth and Lillian Molesworth, of Lansing, Ontario, Canada.
Buried at Moulin-Sous-Touvent Communal Cemetery, Oise. During the
Second World War No. 103 Squadron made short-range day- and night-bombing
attacks with Fairey Battles (including attacks on the Meuse bridges
and the "invasion ports") and longer-range attacks with
Wellingtons, then Halifaxes and, finally Lancasters. The crew of
a Lancaster Bomber are all buried in a single military grave |
