Born Lowestoft 15 Mar 1896. He was a Seaman, his service number 7084A (Ch) in the Royal Naval Reserve on the HM Trawler Briton. He was killed or died as a direct result of enemy action on the 21 Jul 1915. He is buried in Grave number 52 in St Mary's Shotley Churchyard, Shotley, Harwich, Suffolk. Note: During Operation Michael, the Battle of St Quentin, first phase battle of the Somme 1918. On 21st March Harold was in the 61st Machine Gun Corps, when heavy German shellfire hit all areas of the British lines at 04:40; the main attack was between Arras and St Quentin; the German infantry attacked at 07:00 and the forward zone (the 61st) was quickly overwhelmed and almost lost completely.

His name appears in the admisison book for Kirkley School in 1892, son of Aleck, his birth date here is given as 13 September 1885. Buried in LOWESTOFT (KIRKLEY) CEMETERY, Suffolk. Born Lowestoft 25 Nov 1896. He was a deck hand, his service number 8152DA (Ch) in the Royal Naval Reserve on HMS Implacable. He died from disease on the 2 Dec 1918 and was buried in grave number 14 357 at North Lowestoft Cemetery, Beccles Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk.
