The village of Ringsfield is located approximately 2 miles south west of Beccles and situated on Church Road from the village centre to Barsham. The memorial plaque is within All Saints Church. The only World War II casualty is remembered by a stained glass Royal Engineers badge in the south window in the chancel, with a brass plate beneath denoting where he sat in the choir.

BIRD	C.E.W.	Charles Edward Victor Bird. Pte. 32306 12th Bn. Hampshire Regiment. He was the son of Charles & Rose E. Bird of Ringsfield Corner, Beccles. He died on Sept 20th, 1918, aged 21. He is buried in the Karasouli Military Cemetery in Greece.
BIRD	H.	Henry Bird. Pte. 6153. 1/24 Bn. London Regiment. Brother of Charles. Son of H & Rose E Bird of Ringsfield Corner, Beccles. Died 17 Sept 1916, aged 22. Buried & Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. Ref Pier & Face 9D 9C C13 C12.
CALVER	O.	Owen Calver. Pte. 26764 15th Bn. Durham Light Infantry. Eldest son of Owen & Fanny Calver. Husband of Grace Calver of 49 Selwood Road, Frome, Somerset. Native of Ringfield, Beccles, Suffolk. He worked for Clowes until he and his wife (nee Fanny Tilney) and daughter moved to Frome. Died 21 April 1917, aged 36. Buried at Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France. Ref X1X.F.6A. He was killed in the explosion of a munitions dump.

DAVEY	W.A.E.	William A.E. Davey. L/Cpl. 14103. 8th Bn. Suffolk Regiment. Son of William & Eliza. Died 12 Oct 1917. Buried at Cement House Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
GRISSELL	B.S.	Bernard Salwey Grissell, D.S.O. Lt. Col. D.S.O. Commanding the 1/5th th Bn. Norfolk Regiment. Known as Tommy. Son of the late Thomas de la Garde Grissell of Redisham Hall, Beccles, Suffolk. Husband of Olive Grissell. Served in the South African War and Gallipoli. When in Gaza he was captured by the Turks. Died 19 April 1917, aged 37. Buried at Gaza War Cemetery. Ref XX11.C.5.
GRISSELL	F.	Francis Grissell Lt. 1st Bn. Coldstream Guards. Son of Thomas de la Garde Grissell of Redisham Hall, Beccles & brother of Bernard. Died 15th Sept 1916, aged 30. Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, ref Pier & Face 7D & 8D.

MARTIN	W.C.	W.C Martin. Pte. G/16868. 34th Bn. Royal Fusiliers. Son of H. Martin of Ringsfield, Beccles, Suffolk. Buried at Aveluy Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. Re K.50.
RUSBROOK	M	M.H. Rushbrook. Pte. 320112. 15th Bn. Suffolk Regiment. Died 17th Sept 1918. Buried Bronfay Farm Military Cemetery, Bray-sur-Somme, Somme, France, ref 11. F.72.
SAYER	B	B. Sayer. Pte. 5460 11Bn. Royal Fusiliers. Died 17 February 1917. Buried at Regina Trench Cemetery, Grandcourt, Somme, France, ref V.C.12.
SHEPHERD	R.W.	Reginald W Shepherd. Sgt. 16208. 7th Bn. Bedfordshire Regiment. Son of Robert & Blanche Shepherd. Known as “Reggie”, he lived in Hall Farm Ringsfield and his parents, 12 Frederick’s Road, Beccles, Suffolk. Died 28 September 1916, aged 26. Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, ref Pier & Face 2C.
WATERS	J.E.	John Edward Waters. Able Seaman (Trimmer) 5301TS. H.M.S. Trawler “Yucca”. Royal Naval Reserve. Son of Robert & Susan Waters of Weston, Beccles. Husband of Emma Waters of 20 Kimberley Road, South Lowestoft. Died 24 May 1918, aged 36. Commemorated at Chatham Naval Memorial, ref 31.
WATERS	R.	R Waters. Pte.4000 18th Bn. Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Died 26 Oct 1918. Buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France, ref S.11.KK.21.

MYERS	Jack	John (Jack) Myers. Driver 2003414, 287 Field Coy, Royal Engineers. Son of Joseph & Elizabeth Myers. Husband of Ellen Mary Ethel Myers of Bottle & Glass Cottages, Ringsfield, Suffolk. Ellen has a brass plate next to “Jack’s” in the church. Died 4th Sept 1943, aged 24, while a prisoner of war of the Japanese in Burma, having been captured in Malaya. Buried at Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, Myanmar, ref B1.D.8.
