Private 811, 1st Battalion, The South Wales Borderers. 1st. Division. Killed in action 26th September 1914. Aged 28. Son of Albert & Mary Grace Aylwin of Bepton. Born in Bepton. Brother of Laurence Ernest Enlisted in Chichester. Commemorated on the La Ferte sous Jouarre Memorial Mr.15

AYLWIN Laurence Ernest

Gunner 68822, 131st Battery, 19th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died in Salonika 14th November 1918. Aged 26. Son of Albert & Grace Aylwin of Bepton. Brother of Frederick James. Born in Bepton. Enlisted in Midhurst Buried in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria, Greece.

CARPENTER Harry

Private TF/203108 2/4th Battalion, The Royal West Surrey Regiment. 34th Division Died of wounds 29th July 1918. Aged 20. Son of Mr & Mrs William Carpenter of New Farm, Cocking. Born in Guildford. Buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen F.146

PIERSON Daniel

Leading Seaman 213526, H.M.S. "Bulwark, Royal Navy Lost when the Battleship blew up off Sheerness 26th November 1914. Aged 29. Son of Mr & Mrs Daniel Pierson of Bepton. Husband of Mrs Faith Louisa Pierson (remarried) later of Charmouth, Dorset. Buried in Gillingham New Cemetery, Kent.

PIERSON Frank

Private 60130, 15th Battalion, The Royal Welsh Fusiliers. 38th Division. Killed in action 4th August 1917. Enlisted in Midhurst. Formerly with the RASC. Buried in Dragoon Camp Cemetery, Belgium.

POLLARD Charles

Private SD4073, 13th Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regiment. 39th Division. Died of gas poisoning in captivity in Germany 12th May 1918. Aged 21. Grandson of George Pollard of Bepton. Born in Singleton and enlisted in Hastings. Buried in Hamburg Cemetery, Germany

POLLARD Arthur

Private 6113, 2/6th Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment 61st Division. Killed in action 19th July 1916. Born in Singleton and enlisted in Horsham. Formerly, Royal Sussex. Commemorated on The Loos Memorial MR.19

WALLER Albert

Private 16654, Royal Marine Artillery, Royal Marine Depot, Eastney. Died at home 8th October 1918. Buried in Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery.
