CHIDDINGLY ROLL OF HONOUR AND WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © Transcribed Janet Graves 2004; researched Gavin Greenwood

Chiddingly is a village about 12 miles from Bexhill. The war memorial stands in the grounds of the church and the roll of honour hangs within the church. There is also a roll of honour containing the names of those from who served in World War 2. The memorial takes the form of a stone cross with a pitched roof atop a tapering column standing on an octagonal plinth which bears the inscription and names in relief; the whole tands on a four-stepped base. The memorial lists 20 names for World War 1 and 11 names for World War 2.
