Africa 1899-1902 by Mildred G Dooner, published by Naval
and Military Press
Simpson.
- Lieut. Tom Thorp Simpson, 1st Batt. Shropshire Light Infantry,
died of dysentery at Schhoeman’s Kloof on April 30th,
1901. He was a son of Dr. W. S. Simpson, was born in May, 1877,
and educated at Lancing College. He entered the Shropshire Light
Infantry from the 4th Batt. in May, 1899, being promoted lieut.
Aug., 1900. Lieut. Simpson had served with the 2nd battalion
of his Regiment in South Africa from the commencement of the
war.
