STOULTON WAR MEMORIAL

The memorials are to be found in St Edmund’s Church is located in Church Lane, Stoulton. The memorial consists of a wooden plaque situated inside the church on the North wall. The oak panelling is behind the altar along the East wall of the church and has two wooden, carved effigies, one of St Edmund, the patron saint of churches and one of Wulstan, a former Bishop of Worcester. There is an individual memorial in the form of a brass plaque found inside the church on the South wall to Mylius. There is also a memorial to be found in the churchyard consistsing of a stone cross on 3 tiered steps to Chaytor.

Private, Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars (Worcester Yeomanry). Service No 2355. Died aged 24 on 15th March 1915. Son of William Lambert Nicholls and Ellen Eliza Nicholls. Sergeant, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 77 Squadron. Service No 1582404. Died aged 21 on 17th June 1944. Son of Horace Samuel and Florence Edna Tustin, of Upton Snodsbury, Worcestershire. Runnymede Memorial Panel 239.
