WORCESTER, ST GEORGE ROMAN CATHOLIC - WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © 2004 - Transcribed Sandra Taylor; researched Martin Edwards

This memorial can be found outside St George's Church, Sansome Place in Worcester and takes the form of a stone base with Christ on a cross above it. The three officers are separated from the men on the front panel. For ease of reading all have been sorted into alphabetical order. The A.M.D.G. stands for 'Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam' ('To the greater glory of God'), the motto of the Society of Jesus, whose priests were responsible for the parish for many years before handing over to the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
