Matthew & Son, Limited of Cambridge. In Kelly's Directory 1929 Matthew
and Son were described as 'Matthew & Son Limited, grocers, provision
& wine & spirit merchants, fruiterers, greengrocers & florists;
hardware, china, glass & ironmongery, 19, 20 & 21 Trinity street.
Telegrams, “Matthew, Cambridge;” Telephone No. 15 (2 lines).'
The quote below the Roll of Honour states:
AFTER
VICTORY
The
Directors of Matthews & Son Ltd, desire to thank their Custromers
for the consideration and indulgence extended to them through the
strenuous days of the war. Although they have endeavoured with theor
depleted staff to give satisfaction, under the diffuclt conditions,
to all orders received. M. & S. hope with the advent PEACE and
the return in the near future of some of their old experienced employees
to give their patrons the attention of pre-war days.
