SYMONS Hubert
Major, "D" Battery, 47th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died of wounds in german hands 22 March 1918. Aged 33. Son of Heugh S. and the late Ellen Eliza Symons, of Hatt, Cornwall; husband of Mary Beatrice Erskine Symons, of Little Wolleigh, Bovey Tracey, Devon. Commemorated on POZIERES MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Panel 7 to 10.
CHAPMAN Lewis
[Spelt Louis on SDGW & CWGC] Private 240977, 1st/5th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Died of wounds 30 March 1918. Aged 23. Born St Mellion, enlisted Saltash, resident Botus Fleming, Hatt. Husband of Alma R. Chapman, of 97, Fore St., Saltash, Cornwall. Buried in NAMPS-AU-VAL BRITISH CEMETERY, Somme, France. Plot I. Row D. Grave 4.

TOWNSEND E
Volunteer, 18th Devon (Saltash) Battalion, Home Guard. Died 20 March 1941. Buried in St. MARY CHURCHYARD, BOTUS FLEMING, Cornwall.
