FLETCHER
Thomas
A good candidate is Thomas Fletcher, son of Thomas (senior) and Mona Fletcher of Fore Street, West Looe. Born in 1895 and thus would have been age 19 at the outbreak of war in 1914. A possible reason for the lack of details could perhaps be that the 1911 census shows that Thomas had moved away from Looe and was living and working at Upper Holloway in London. Also living at the same address was Harry Symons, born 1892, the son of Henry and Mary Symons of Market Street, East Looe. It looks like the two lads set off together to widen their horizons in London. Possibly volunteered and joined the conflict together.
