information for World War 1 & 2

The
war memorial is to be found on the local green in Langwarthby and takes
the form of a three-stepped base surmounted by a stepped plinth, cornice
and obelisk. The inscriptions can be found on the sides of the plinth
and on a separate tablet which lies gainst the steps to one side of
the memorial. There are eleven names for World War 1 and 4 for World
War 2.

John Baty as being in the Coldstream Guards, but no evidence can

22 years. Remembered on Panel 6 of Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
